The Mouse House....... By Khadijat Babansule

Image
There was once a house that was infested with many mice. They would run around the rooms, nibble on the food, and make a lot of noise. The people who lived in the house were very annoyed and disgusted by the mice. They tried to catch them with traps and chase them away with brooms, but nothing worked. The mice were too clever and fast. One day, the mother of the house had an idea. She decided to use food poison to eliminate the mice. She bought a packet of poison from the market and mixed it with some cheese. She placed the cheese in different corners of the house, hoping that the mice would eat it and die. The next morning, she woke up and checked the cheese. To her delight, she saw that most of the cheese was gone. She also noticed some dead mice lying on the floor. She felt relieved and happy that her plan had worked. She quickly cleaned up the mess and threw away the cheese and the mice. However, she did not know that there was one more piece of cheese left in the kitchen. It was h...

Once, there was a 17-year-old boy named Tade who had a bad habit of stealing. He would often sneak out to his mom's room at night to steal, lie to his Dad and get extra money. He did not care about the consequences of his actions, and he enjoyed spending the money he stole on drugs and alcohol. His mother, Shade, was very worried about him. She tried to talk to him and persuade him to stop stealing, but he would not listen. He would shout at her and tell her to leave him alone. He hated his mother's nagging and thought she was too strict and boring. He felt that she did not understand him or his problems. His grandmother, Nneka, lived with them and witnessed their constant arguments. She loved her grandson and wanted him to change his ways. She knew that his mother's nagging was not working, so she decided to use a different approach. She used wisdom and kindness to make him see why he should stop stealing. One day, she called him to her room and gave him a gift. It was a...

The Miracle of hardworking .. By Khadijat Babansule

There once lived two brothers in a small village. The elder brother, Tunde, was hard working and diligent. He helped his father on the farm, studied at school, and saved his money for the future. The younger brother, Segun, was lazy and foolish. He hated working on the farm, skipped school, and spent his money on trivial things. He believed that money grew on trees and he could get rich without any effort. One day, their father fell ill and could not work anymore. He called his sons and said, "My sons, I have no money to leave you. All I have is this land and these trees. You must take care of them and yourselves. They are your inheritance and your source of income." He then gave each son a half of the land and a half of the trees. Tunde thanked his father and promised to work hard and make him proud. He planted crops on his land, watered and pruned his trees, and sold his produce at the market. He earned enough money to support his father, himself, and his future family....

A drop of kindness. By Khadijat Babansule

Once upon a time, in the bustling streets of Lagos, there lived a young boy named   Joshua . His days were filled with the scorching sun, the dusty roads, and the weight of a heavy crate of bottled water on his small shoulders. Joshua was a   water hawker , weaving through the chaotic traffic, shouting, “Cold water! Pure water!” His voice echoed against the high-rise buildings, but it seemed to get lost in the cacophony of the city. Joshua’s parents were  stage performers , eking out a living from their art. They sang and danced on makeshift stages, their voices rising to the heavens, hoping for a miracle. But life was harsh, and the applause faded quickly. They couldn’t afford to send Joshua to school, so he spent his days selling water to commuters, dreaming of a different life. The sun bore down on Joshua’s thin frame as he darted between cars, his flip-flops worn and tattered. His dreams were simple: a full stomach, a roof over his head, and maybe, just maybe, ...

A Tailor's Tale by Khadijat Babansule Chidi was a tailor who had just moved to Abuja from his village. He had heard that Abuja was the city of dreams, where anyone could make it big with the right skills and attitude. He also heard that Abuja was all about packaging, meaning that appearance and presentation mattered a lot in the city. Chidi wanted to impress his new customers and make a name for himself as a tailor. He decided to dress up in a suit and tie every day, even though the weather was hot and humid. He thought that by looking smart and professional, he would attract more clients and earn more money. He also decided to hawk his services around the streets, carrying a sign that read "Chidi the Tailor: Quality and Affordable". He hoped that by being mobile and visible, he would reach more people and get more orders. However, things did not go as planned for Chidi. Instead of getting admiration and respect, he got mockery and ridicule. People laughed at him fo...
